The semi-finals for the NJCAA DII Men’s basketball national tournament was played at Danville Area Community College on March 22nd.

The South Suburban Bulldogs came into the tournament as the number two seed with a first round bye. SSC won their first game against Florida State Jacksonville 86 to 79 on March 19th. Two days later, in the quarterfinals, SSC beat Parkland 79 to 70.

The day after, the Bulldogs took on the number three Ellsworth Panthers from Iowa. Ellsworth came off a 121 to 113 win over Milwaukee Area Tech. Winning this game means a shot at the national title. 

FINAL: South Suburban 89, Ellsworth 75

Jemel Jones had 46 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals.

SSC plays National Park College (Arkansas) at 7pm on March 23rd.
