Eid al-Fitr is on April 10th, 2024. There are roughly 1.9 billion Muslims worldwide that practice the Islamic holiday Eid al-Fitr. After fasting for 30 days, during Ramadan, Muslims will break their daily fast on the holiday giving thanks to Allah (God). Celebration events will range from daily prayers within the households to public prayers with fellow Muslims.

In Hyde Park, there will be an Eid celebration at 9:30 AM. Ahmed Rehab is the Executive Director of the Chicago Office of the Council of American-Islamic Relations and will be joining at least hundreds of Muslims at 6330 South Stony Island Avenue in Chicago. Starting the day there will be an Eid Glorification (Takbirat) and following the Eid Prayer with a Sermon. Celebrations will continue with food, bounce houses, face painting and other activities for children and adults.
