Woman killed at Lemont’s D-Lux Budget Inn

By Nuha Abdessalam.

On Thursday morning, at 9:30 AM., Lemont Police responded to a call at the motel on 12241 Archer Avenue, where a woman was found with multiple gunshot wounds.

Still, with an ongoing investigation by the Village of Lemont Police Department, the most recent press news release has revealed that the weapon in the homicide of the woman, who has not been identified, has been found inside one of the rooms with a male subject, later identified as Richard Crane, 62, who was found deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Lemont Police statement provided an unknown motive and has not established any relationship between the two. The investigation is still ongoing, but Lemont Police are confident there is no threat to the community, and the offender in this incident is deceased.
