HomerFest is just around the corner, offering residents and nonresidents a four-day opportunity for a fun-filled weekend with family and friends. From Thursday, June 27, to Sunday, June 30, at Heritage Park at 14240 W 151 Street, you can explore various food vendors, enjoy carnival rides and listen to live music.
HomerFest is starting with a bang this year, a celebration for everyone. On opening night, attendees will have the first pick of the many impressive food vendors, including local favorites like Annabelle’s BBQ, Ben’s Soft Pretzels, Great American Pizza, and Smokin’ Z. Families and friends can enjoy the carnival rides and catch live music on each night of the festival. At 9:15 p.m. (June 27), a fireworks show will light up the sky, setting the mood for a summer of fun.

Free entrance and free parking may interest many, and it perked this reporter’s ears up, with the multiple events and acts planned for the whole community.
Friday, June 28, is dedicated as HomerFest’s Special Needs day. Starting at 2 p.m. reserved hours are for ONLY Homer Glen residents with special needs and their families. They are invited for have exclusive access to rides and games. Families can register in advance to partake in private festivities.
The live music stretched throughout the four days alone will spark attention; great acts like All American Throwbacks, Hillbilly Rockstarz, The 815, and more will grace the open-air stage.
