In the spring of 2024, Connor Downs was named the new head football coach for the Bremen Braves. Formerly, Downs was an assistant coach for the Whiting Oilers (2022) and the Hillcrest Hawks (2023), were he helped lead the Hawks to a first round 5A IHSA state tournament win; 22-8 vs Carbondale High School.
Now he is coaching the Braves with intensity, effort, consistency and passion. Senior Jaime Martinez and Senior Ronney Spruill add to Downs character.
