On September 27th, both the Eisenhower Cardinals (2-3, 1-2 SSC Red) and the Oak Lawn Community High School Spartans (0-5, 0-3 SSC Red) were trying to earn their first South Suburban Conference Red victory.
After a hard fought battle, ‘Ike’ came on top.
FINAL: Eisenhower 52, Oak Lawn C.H.S. 47.
The WCCN Player of the Game was senior running back, wide receiver and free safety Andre Lovett (committed to University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign). He led the ground game rushing for 400 yards, earning 7 touchdowns. On the other side of the ball, Lovett came away with 7 tackles.
“It felt great getting the job done and taking care of business. This is my first time scoring seven touchdowns in a game” Lovett wrote to WCCN. “I would like to thank my offensive line and wide receivers for their blocking, and to my coach (Vincent Holmes) for believing in me…”
Next week Eisenhower will face Evergreen Park Community High School, during their homecoming and senior night festivities, at 7:00 PM.
“This is our second win of the season. We plan on coming out, working hard, and doing our jobs so we can get the win” said Lovett.
