It came down to two seconds…, 0:02 left in the 2nd half, for the Women’s Saint Xavier University Cougars (4-3-1, 2-1 CCAC) to come up with a 1-0 victory over St. Ambrose University (Iowa: 3-5-2) on Saturday, September 28.

Right around the 14 second mark, St. Ambrose passed the ball up field to junior Addie Kerkhoff and she was unable to keep the ball within her reach. Moments later, junior midfielder Veronica Davila pounced on the ball dribbling up on the right side of the field and cutting left in front of the goal. Davila controlled the ball with her right foot passing it to her left; which fired the heat. The shot targeted the lower right side of the net going right pass the keeper.

FINAL: Saint Xavier 1, St. Ambrose 0.

Eden Suda, senior goalkeeper for SXU, shutout St. Ambrose with threes saves.

On Saturday, October 5, at 12:30 PM Saint Xavier will face Calumet College of St. Joseph (0-3) on the road.
