Defensive Players make the Sectional Semifinals a Thrill

October 15, 2024 – A full rainbow set the stage for the Richton Park Sectional Semifinals, but temperatures hovered around 45 degrees with light rain and a bone-chilling breeze, as the #2 Romeoville Spartans and #5 Hillcrest Hawks showcased strong defensive efforts throughout the game.

FINAL: Hillcrest 28, Romeoville 20.

Hillcrest

– Junior quarterback Dajha Johnson threw for three touchdowns reaching, Christiara Finley, Davia Cobb and Mia Rodriguez.

Senior Ava Scott picked of the QB for the WCCN Play of the Game and the winning turnover.

Romeoville

– Sophomore Milan Cadet had a standout game with three touchdowns; one was a pass from junior quarterback Jenna Jarmus.

The WCCN Player of the Game was Ava Scott.
