Late into the morning around 10:08 am. Shots rang out in Midlothian near 147th street and Turner Avenue.

Midlothian Police were sent to the area looking for the alleged suspects. They discovered spent shells casing lying on the ground with a handgun. 

Allegedly, a suspect from the apartment building on Turner Avenue shot from the alleyway towards a silver in color Jeep Cherokee which left the scene. The suspect on foot retreated into the apartment complex; where the South Suburban Emergency Response Team entered the apartment taking a suspect into custody.

Local residents told WCCN that they are glad nobody was reported hurt but it was sad to hear about the shooting happening.

Midlothian Police Department is still investigating the shooting and are looking for information on the Jeep Cherokee suspect.
