Universal’s basketball (7350 W 93rd St, Bridgeview) team held their final practice at the Oak Lawn Pavilion on Tuesday evening (November 26), preparing for their season opener the following day against Alcott.
In the lead-up to the season, Universal brought in Mustafa Sulaiman, the founder of the Xposure Runs podcast and Chitown Showcase, which shines a spotlight on overlooked players in the Chicagoland area. Sulaiman, who has previous coaching experience in the city, was drawn to the school by his faith, marking a new chapter for his life.
WCCN also spoke with junior forward Azzam Atassi, senior guard Abdullah Elzebak and senior forward Abdallah Sughayar.
