It was Senior Night at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. College Preparatory High School (4445 S Drexel Blvd, Chicago), where the King Jaguars (12-7, 7-0 CPWC) hosted the Longwood Panthers (6-12) in a highly anticipated showdown.
King honored seven seniors: William Carter, Jaden Thomas, Khiyale Burson, Isaiah Owens, Anthony Bolden, Matthew Chatman, and Destine Hobbs.
FINAL: King 41, Longwood 33.
This victory marked King’s undefeated season at home and their perfect record in the Chicago Public White Central Conference.
The WCCN Player of the Game was sophomore guard Corey Wellere, who scored 11 points.
After the game, WCCN spoke with first-year head coach Jerell Park Sr., senior forward Jaden Thomas, and Corey Wellere.
