It was a highly anticipated matchup on February 18, as the Bloom Township Blazing Trojans (19-8; 9-3 SLC) and the Rich Township Raptors (10-8; 10-2 SLC) faced off in a Southland Conference showdown.
Adding to the excitement, it was also Rich Township’s senior night, where seniors Al Brooks, Ikee Brooks, Matthew Lesure, Kobe Johnson, and Nyshawn Turner were honored.
At the end of the first the game was tied 12-12.
In the second quarter, Rich Township began to play more effectively, taking a 35-26 lead into halftime.
The third quarter saw Bloom take back the lead and then some, leaving it 48-41.
In the fourth it was all Bloom Township.
FINAL: Bloom Township 71, Rich Township 61.
Senior forward Adam Page was named the WCCN Player of the Game, finishing with 21 points, 16 of which came in the second half.
Other stars were senior guard Payton Edwards with 17 points and senior point guard Elijah Lovemore with 15 points.
WCCN spoke with Page and Lovemore after the game.
