The Peotone 2A Sectional Semifinals took place on March 4, 2025, with the #2 Bishop McNamara Fighting Irish and the #1 Joliet Catholic Academy Hilltoppers facing off at 7 p.m.

In the opening quarter, Karter Krutsinger put the first points on the board for McNamara with a basket underneath the rim.

Jack Superits then found himself wide open in the corner, knocking down a three-pointer.

A few plays later, Willie Felton answered with a smooth one-handed layup, giving the Fighting Irish the lead.

Joliet Catholic quickly responded, but Felton followed with a short jumper.

Superits then hit another three-pointer, flipping the lead back.

Krutsinger added an easy floater to keep the momentum going, while Brady Tunkel of Joliet Catholic drove to the basket for a quick two points.

Joliet Catholic managed to hold onto the lead through the end of the first quarter, finishing ahead 18-14.

The second quarter featured some standout performances, particularly from Krutsinger, who scored 14 points. His teammate Coen Demack also contributed 8 points.

At halftime, Bishop McNamara led 40-34.

In the second half, the Fighting Irish maintained control, finishing strong to secure a 79-67 victory and advance to the sectional finals.

Even though the Hilltoppers didn’t secure the win, the WCCN Player of the Game was awarded to junior Jayden Armstrong, who scored 20 points on the night, 18 of which came in the second half.

For the Fighting Irish, junior forward/guard Karter Krutsinger finished the game with 25 points.
