Oak Lawn – On March 24, the Chicago Christian Knights (3-1) took the 9-minute ride to Harold L. Richards High School, where they faced the Bulldogs (2-0) in their fourth game of the year; while the Bulldogs were playing in their second.
After all the innings were completed, one player set a record for himself.
FINAL: Richards 8, Chicago Christian 5.
The WCCN Player of the Game was senior pitcher and shortstop Sean Cody, who hit for the cycle (single, double, triple, and home run), drove in three RBIs, scored a run, and pitched one inning, striking out one batter.
For baseball fans’ reference, the cycle was only completed four times in the 2024 MLB season.
This was the first time Cody had achieved this feat, and he spoke about the accomplishment.
