Crestwood – On May 24, the Do It Stevie’s Way 2:19 Baseball Tournament concluded at Ozinga Field, 14011 Kenton Ave.
The memorial baseball tournament is held each year, since 2012, in honor of Steven M. Bajenski, a former Mount Carmel Caravan baseball player.
Out of the 16 teams invited to the event, which began in mid-April, St. Laurence High School and Lemont High School advanced to the finals.
On a chilly May night, the St. Laurence Vikings took a 9–1 lead by the end of the fourth inning.
In the top of the sixth, the Vikings added one more run to seal the win.
FINAL: St. Laurence 10, Lemont 1
The WCCN Player of the Game was junior designated hitter Adrian Perez, who had two hits, three RBIs, and one run.

The Do It Stevie’s Way 2:19 Foundation also named award winners from both teams. The first was Perez of St. Laurence, and the second was designated hitter Shea Glotzbach, who had one hit.

Following the game, the Vikings were presented with the Do It Stevie’s Way trophy, which can be seen on WCCN’s social media pages.
