Robinson steps up early for the Lady Bulldogs

South Holland – On January 6, the South Suburban College Lady Bulldogs defeated Blackhawk Technical College, 61–53.

There were only two lead changes throughout the game, with SSC taking control at the 7:27 mark of the first quarter and holding the lead for the rest of the contest.

SSC’s starting five played the entire game, with all five players logging 40 minutes.

  • Kenedi Collins-Irons finished with 15 points, 3 assists, and 5 rebounds.
  • Armani Cole recorded a double-double with 14 points, 2 assists, and 15 rebounds.
  • Raye Robinson added 14 points, 4 assists, and 2 rebounds.
  • Makayla Hurley also posted a double-double with 10 points, 2 assists, and 13 rebounds.
  • Chimeka Heard-Powell contributed 8 points, 3 assists, and 9 rebounds.

Sophomore guard and forward Raye Robinson was named the WCCN Player of the Game for her performance in helping SSC secure an early lead and maintain it with the support of her teammates.

WCCN spoke with Robinson and head coach Kevin Green after the game.
