South Holland — The Lady Wolves of Joliet Junior College fought the South Suburban Bulldogs on January 22.
Even though both teams gave it their all and each had big bursts of energy throughout the contest, the Wolves came out on top with a final score of 80–69.
For the Bulldogs, the leading scorer was Armani Cole, who finished the night with a double-double of 23 points, 14 rebounds, and three assists.
For the Wolves, imposing sophomore center Destynai McGruder closed the game with 29 points, eight rebounds, and five assists, and she was named the WCCN Player of the Game.
She talked about her first-half performance, using her 6’1” height to get inside the paint, the adjustments made at halftime, and the team’s goals moving forward.
