Police Respond to Burglary at Midlothian Auto Dealership

Midlothian — On the evening of January 31, at approximately 9:10 p.m., a burglary occurred at Great Lake Auto, located at 14300 S. Pulaski Road in Midlothian.

The Midlothian Police Department was dispatched to the scene.

At 10:22 p.m., the Midlothian Police Department released the following information in a Facebook post, stating, “The Officers observed a possible handgun on the offender. Officers created a perimeter and made announcements for the suspect to surrender.”

When WCCN arrived at approximately 11:00 p.m., a Midlothian police officer told WCCN that a burglary was still in progress inside the Great Lake Auto dealership and advised staying away from unsecured areas.

A South Suburban Emergency Response Team was already on scene.

At approximately 11:20 p.m., additional police departments from surrounding areas arrived, along with another South Suburban Emergency Response vehicle.

Around 11:30 p.m., a police BearCat continued making audio contact with the suspect.


In the morning of February 1st, around 1:30 a.m. the suspect was arrested.

The Midlothian Police wrote on following information in a Facebook post, stating “The suspect was taken into custody around 1:30am. He will remain in custody pending felony charges from the Cook County State’s Attorney Office.

“Thank you for your patience while this matter was being resolved,” wrote the Midlothian Illinois Police Department

As of 9:13 a.m. on February 1, no new updates were available.
