Houseworth, Johnson Lead Charge for Moraine Valley’s 22–3 Record

Palos Hills — The Moraine Valley Community College Lady Cyclones defeated the South Suburban College Bulldogs, 88–71, on February 7.

On the Bulldogs’ side, Rachyl Robinson scored 32 points, and Armani Cole added 26.

Currently holding a 22–3 overall record, one of the Cyclones’ leaders was sophomore point guard Laila Houseworth, who was named the WCCN Player of the Game after tallying 21 points.

Another standout from the game was sophomore shooting guard and small forward Jadea Johnson, who finished with 17 points.

Johnson also has several other big highlights.

In the NJCAA Region 4 division, she ranks first in points per game at 21, second in overall points with 505, and second in free throws made at 110-of-148.

WCCN spoke with Houseworth, Johnson, and 29th-year head coach Delwyn Jones after the game.
