Country Club Hills — In the Hillcrest 3A Sectional semifinal, the Leo Lions defeated the Morgan Park Mustangs 68–38 on March 3.
Leo came out strong, holding Morgan Park to just two points in the first quarter while putting up 17 of their own. Ten of those points came from Brian Kizer, who set the tone early for the Lions.
Leo continued its aggressive play throughout the second, third, and fourth quarters, maintaining control on both ends of the floor and securing the 30-point victory.
Morgan Park was led by Jaque Lewis, who finished with 13 points.
Junior forward and guard Brian Kizer was named WCCN Player of the Game after scoring 21 points.
He credited his teammates for setting him up offensively and thanked his coaches for encouraging him after a few missed shots.
