Crestwood — On March 11, 2026, the Midlothian School District 143 Board of Education held its regular Board of Education meeting at Kolmar School in the Edgar Gym at 6 p.m.

Residents from the school district, along with teachers, faculty, staff, and students, were in attendance.

In Section 5 of the agenda, Springfield students were recognized by faculty for their leadership.

Following the recognition, Board President Sharlene Innocenti and Superintendent Dr. Angela M. Crotty addressed the crowd, estimated to be more than 100 people, regarding the hiring of a former superintendent (Mr. Michael Hollingsworth, Associate Superintendent for the 2023-2024 school year) in an advisory role and public speculation circulating on social media.

The meeting was then opened for public comment. Eleven speakers addressed the board, five of whom were former or current students of the district, and discussed their concerns. Several speakers called for the resignation of board members.

The meeting ended and entered executive session at 7:25 p.m.
