Palos Heights — Opening day for the Chicago Christian Knights became even sweeter as they earned their first win of the season under their new head coach.
The matchup also marked a new rivalry, as Troy Grevengoed previously spent 23 years coaching at Harold L. Richards.
In the end, the Knights came away with a 2–0 victory over the Bulldogs.
The WCCN Player of the Game was senior outside hitter Sam Jager, who was composed throughout the match and strong from the service line. He credited this effort to his teammates and coaches, and said he hopes to set an example for the younger players in the program.
