Attention locals, train commuters, and coffee lovers! Tinley Park’s newest coffee house, Bean ‘N Breek, (17835 80th Ave, Tinley Park, IL) is now open. It’s not just another coffee house but a place that brings the ‘originality of coffee back to coffee’ with its unique Middle Eastern blends and traditional brewing methods, sure to pique your curiosity.

New owners Muhammad Awadalla and, his wife, Miriam Ayyad have finally made their dreams a reality. Their deep-rooted passion for coffee is evident in the name ‘Bean ‘N Breek’. It’s a playful spin on ‘Bean,’ as in coffee bean, and ‘Breek,’ the Arabic word for coffee pot, shared Ayyad. This is not just a business venture but a labor of love that connects them to the community.

Since its opening on April 15, Bean ‘N Breek has brought back authentic Middle Eastern coffee. “One of our unique features is the authentic sand bed, a traditional method we use when making Arabic coffee,” said Ayyad. This involves boiling the coffee, and water, on a bed of hot sand. Ayyad explained “This method enhances the flavor and aroma of the coffee, and it’s a conversation starter for sure!”

Awadalla comes equipped with over 15 years of experience in the coffee industry. The first-time owner started as a barista, then managed, and serviced coffee houses, overseas in Jerusalem. He eventually came to America, with his family, to create his own shop. “This has been my passion, bringing authentic blends and freshness to our coffee” said Awadalla.

“Nowadays, it’s shaken with this and that… We want people to taste coffee when they say they want a coffee” stated Ayyad. “We take our time selecting blends, a process that can take several months.”

Every order at Bean ‘N Breek promises freshness and quality. Awadalla said, “Nothing is found in a pot. Everything is freshly grounded at our espresso bar.” The coffee experience is just that: an experience.

While standard menu options will be available, they’re constantly innovating and adding new flavors to their ‘growing menu,’ from unique coffee blends to specialty drinks, like greenhouse energy drinks. Awadalla said, “It’s our clean and healthiest version of a ‘Red Bull’.” An energy drink that is plant-based.

Locals can explore the array of desserts and pastries, including muffins, cookies, cinnamon rolls, and more, which are updated frequently.

The couple notably wants to create a Tinley Park community element between citizens and coffee.

Ayyad vocalized “We’re about creating a space where everyone feels welcomed; creating that friendly, neighborly experience for all.”
