Oak Lawn — The #12 Oak Lawn Spartans defeated #21 Proviso West 2-0 in the IHSA Summit Regional Quarterfinals on May 22.

Senior outside hitter Marco Budzak earned WCCN Player of the Game honors after finishing with eight kills, two blocks, two digs, and an ace. Much of his success came from attacking near the antenna and placing shots all over the court.
Other Spartans who had strong performances included senior outside hitter Lucas Muresan, who recorded six kills, six digs, and two assists, along with sophomore middle Nathan Brennan, who added four kills and two blocks.
Their ability to consistently attack helped lead Oak Lawn to the playoff victory.
