Lansing — The crosstown rivalry between Thornton Fractional North and Thornton Fractional South took place September 18, with both teams fighting for the Battle of Burnham trophy.
TF North retained the Wooden Shoe-Mushroom Trophy with a dominant 42-7 victory over its crosstown rival. The win marked the Meteors’ fourth straight victory in the matchup and improved their record to 4-1 on the season.
Senior quarterback Jermaine Henley was the standout player of the night. He opened the scoring with a 34-yard rushing touchdown before adding two passing touchdowns in the first and second quarters.
Henley was named the WCCN Player of the Game and reflected on his scoring plays, winning the trophy and the impact his coaches have on him.
